Another Milestone

Preston has changed so much in the last month. All of these milestones are starting to be really bittersweet. I get so excited when he does something new (especially when I get to take pictures) but then the reality sets in that he is growing up. I know doing one new thing will just lead to another new thing.

Anyway, on the the new milestone. Preston has been very intrested in standing up the last week or so. He gets mad if you try to hold on to him. He has been pushing our hands away. I have noticed he was trying to stand up on his own, and Mrs. Kathy said something about it yesterday. I knew it was coming so of course I have kept the camera close by the last couple of days. Today I was in his room putting up clothes while Jordan was outside playing with Patricia. I turned around to hang some clothes up in his closet and get some diapers out and when I turned around this is what I saw....

I was so surprised.

Preston and his weight loss/gain journey

I will give you a quick back story then an update.

Preston was born premature and has had some stomach issues from the beggining. He spits up a good bit and always has. We had initially thought it would be something he would grow out of once he started eating baby food, but unfortnatly that hasn't seem to happen. He has also had a rough time gaining weight and holding his weight steady. We have tried numerous medicines for acid reflux and nothing seems to help it. Actually it will all help for a couple of weeks and then nothing. Since he has been born we have been for probably 5 weight checkups. Everytime the doctor says we will see how he is doing at his next appoitnment. He is meeting all of milestones on time, and he loves to eat so it is something we have tried to overlook. I know some people are going to think I am not feeding him, but I assure you he eats ALL the time. Thankfully that question hasn't even crossed my doctors mind.

We took Preston to the doctor Easter Sunday because he was weezing really bad and just felt icky. They determined he had an ear infection (fourth one now) and a bad cold. They gave him some meds and he seems to be doing better, but while we were there they of course weighed him. He has lost more weight. I am puzzled by all of this I don't understand how someone that eats all the time and can't even walk can continue to loose weight. He is a little busy body and constantly on the go, but really is that even possible? Well the doctor said at this point it is something that needs to be looked into further. He asked me if we would document everything he eats (food and formula) and if/when he throws up. He said he understands we can't really measure how much he throws up but document how often. He said he was going to talk to another doctor friend of his and give us a call on Monday to set up an appointment to come in next week. He said they want to take a look at his stomach and see what else we need to do.

I am sure its nothing serious, but naturally I am worried. I am hoping we finally get some answers and some medicine that fixes this problem.

Easter

Easter was wonderful (other than Preston  being sick) Eli had to work last night, but the kids were still asleep when he got home. I was glad he got to be here to see them dig into their Easter baskets. We took a nap after all the excitement and then got ready to head to Granny's. We went to Granny's for lunch and an Easter egg hunt. Everything was great, and I of course ate way to much. The kids really enjoyed hunting eggs. We took Preston to the doctor after the egg hunting. They gave him 3 prescriptions so hopefully he will get to feeling better this week.
I do not have a picture of all 4 of us so while we were all dressed cute and outside. I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and had my sister snap some pics. I plan to have this one framed even though Preston is not looking.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

K5 Easter Egg Hunt

Jordan had his Easter egg hunt at school today and he asked me if I would come. Of course I said yes especially since it is a really slow week here at work. I didn't take my camera, but I did get a chance to snap a few pictures with my phone.

Before you look at the pictures I just have to say I have no idea what happened to Jordan's hair between this morning when I dropped him off and now. It is amazing how fast that boy can get dirty and mess his hair up.

Jordan LOVES these two girl. We hear all about them everyday. I do have to give it to him they are two precious little girls.

Our visit to the Easter Bunny

Saturday after Jordan's tball game we went to Jackson. I had some things that I needed to take care of and I figured it would be a perfect time to con Jordan into taking a picture with the Easter bunny. Preston LOVED the bunny. He wanted to eat him so bad. He even cried when I took him away from the bunny...Preston never cries when I take him from anyone. Normally its the other way around. Jordan was not thrilled he was being forced to sit with the easter bunny. He kept saying that he was to old. He just doesn't realize he will never be "to old" in mommy's eyes.

something new everyday

Preston is growing and changing everyday. He has two teeth and one more that should make it's appearance any day.  He is starting to crawl and he is very anxious to see what bubba is doing in his room. He has also mastered going from laying down to sitting up all by himself.

Preston got his first taste of watermelon tonight.
By the look on his face you can tell he was not a fan. I thought it was funny so I had him try it a couple of times to get some pictures....all of them look just like this. I am afraid he isn't a watermelon type boy.

Jordan had his first t ball game Saturday  and he did really good. He is for sure no all star but he had a lot of fun. I plan to do a t ball post after his next game on Tuesday. This is Jordan at academy sports this weekend.

Monday night storms

Monday night storms seem to be a pattern here in Mississippi lately. This past monday was no different than the last 3. This one wasn't near as bad, but I guess with all the bad weather the last few weaks we had some week trees. Once the wind started blowing we had a couple of trees fall and of course that resulted in no power. Since we live in the country and Energy was in no real hurry we sat in the dark for most of the night. The lights went out about 3:30 p.m.

No moment at our house is ever dull with 2 active boys so why would you think Monday night with no lights would be any different?

Thank goodness preston's toys run off batteries and Jordan can entertain himself by picking on his baby brother.
The part that is so funny about all of this is Preston laughs at everything Jordan does....including when he puts boxes on his head.

weekend roundup

This weekend was busy just like all other weekends.

Friday night we took the kids to this small carnival in town. We let Jordan ride the rides and play a game.

Saturday Jordan had his last soccer game for the season. He scored two goals. I am so proud of him and how much he has improved the last few months. Next week begins the tball season. I am hoping it gets better soon. After the Soccer game Eli's mom took the kids to visit some family, and spend the night. Me and Eli went car shopping till 8:00 saturday night. We did do a little shopping in between and had a wonderful dinner at  Outback! We found a couple of cars we are checking on. Hopefully Eli will find out some good news today. While at Outback it hit me that Preston was seven months old. I can not believe its already been 7 months.

Sunday was my perfect family day. Me and Eli got up Sunday morning to clean the entire house then went to get the kids. It was so nice to know that once we got home I could play with the kids the rest of the day, and not have to worry about cleaning up. We went to get groceries, and then spent the rest of the day outside. We did some yard work. Eli grilled some YUMMY food! I bought our first watermelon of the season so after supper we all went outside and had some watermelon. Watermelon is Jordans favorite.

We had a wonderful weekend. I hated to see Monday morning, but its back to another work week. I just keep telling myself next week is only a 4 day week! Come on Good Friday.

A busy day yesterday with the Morse boys

Preston
Yesterday was such a hectic day both at work and at home. I got off work at 4 and went to get Preston from daycare. We had tball practice yesterday and since Preston has a cough and it was chilly so my mom offered to keep him while I took Jordan.I made sure to tell her she would have to feed him supper and give him a bath, but she said that was fine. She quickly changed her mind not long after I was gone,. Preston realized I wasn't there (he is a bit of a mommy's boy) but she did some great entertaining. She said the minute he realized I was gone he started crying and looking for me. Eli says he does this to, but I wasn't sure I believed him until now. She said as long as she was up walking around with him he was fine, but he didn't eat very good for her. When I got home he was very happy to see me and I guess he thought he could go to bed since mommy was home. I fed him his bottle since he refused to take it for mom. He cuddled up against me and held my necklace and went right to sleep. I have been wondering for the last few months if Preston knows who I am. He smiles at everyone and laughs at everyone so even though he greets me with a smile when I pick him up from daycare I wasn't sure if it was just because he was happy to see someone or happy to see Mommy! Eli has been telling me he knows exactly who I am and refuses to do anything for anyone else. I have to admit that made me smile, and I think after last night I believe him. :)

I went in later to check on him before I went to bed and secretly hoped he would be awake and ready for some more snuggle time with mommy but....
He was sound asleep snuggled up in his blanket. I just uncovered his face and smiled!

Jordan
I am amazed at the things that come out of Jordan's mouth. We had a funny conversation yesterday on the way home from tball practice
Jordan: I want a roast sandwich, mac and cheese, and a pickle for supper. What do you want mom?
Me: I want a maid.
Jordan: Whats that?
Me: Someone to clean my house for me when I am to busy.
Jordan: I don't think my daddy will let you have one of those so what do you want for supper.
Me: I guess I will take a roast beef sandwich
Jordan: cool dude

So then we get home and we are getting out of the car to go inside and  our converstaion went like this.

Me: Jordan aren't you foregetting something
Jordan: What
Me: your bat and your glove you need to get it out of the car and bring it inside dude.
Jordan: Mom thats not cool your not a dude only boys can say that word.

HAHA Guess there has been a new rule since i was "cool" and girls can no longer say the word dude!

It times like that that make me realize just how precious my boys are and how much fun my life is with them in it! I don't know what I would do without all the smiles they bring.

Tball and Soccer

First lets talk tball. Lets just say last week was....interesting. The coach spent most of the practice running around like a chicken with his head cut off while the kids did this

Most of the kids (including mine) were not interested. Since the coach spent most of practice trying to figure out what we were going to do not much practicing went one.

We have practice again today. I am hoping our coach had a whole week to prepare for this and know what to expect. Hopefully he will have somethings planned for our kids to do. Either way Jordan enjoyed playing in the grass last week so we are going to do our best to enjoy it.

Now with the bad taken care of lets talk good.

Jordan loves soccer and man he has really improved since October. I am so disappointed that Saturday is our last game of the season. We have pictures on Saturday then we will be finished with soccer until September/October. I am anxiously waiting for next season.

weekend round up

Friday afternoon Jordan went to my grandmothers and spent the night. So Eli did some yard work and I cleaned the house

While Preston watched tv, and chewed on his new toy. Eli then decided he wanted to go eat at Logan's. I hate going out to eat because Preston thinks his bedtime is 6:30 or 7:00 at the latest if he stays up any later we have a mess. So Eli experinced that first hand friday night/ morning. Preston didn't get in the bed till about 11.
So at 4:00 am we were ready to play. Of course when Preston is ready to play its time for EVERYONE to get up. Since going to eat at 8:00 pm was Eli's brilliant idea no way I was letting him off the hook.

Thankfully Preston agreed and thought Daddy needed to get up and play with us.

Saturday morning me and Victoria went to some garage sales and I found Preston some adorable clothes (like he needed them haha) I also got Jordan some nice clothes for the summer. Eli kept preston and since both of them had been up since 4 am neither one of them was in a good mood.
Preston wore one of his new outfits saturday to the Soccer game.

Sunday Victoria came to take pictures of the kids. I haven't seen them all yet but I am anxious to get the cd this afternoon.

Here is one of the ones of the boys together. I just can't believe how much they have grown up.

This picture brings tears to my eyes. I can't believe my baby is so grown up. I mean where did my baby go? It seems like just yesterday he was preston's age. Now I am having tball and soccer pictures made? I don't know what to do with this BOY!

Friday Morning excitment

Last night was a bit hectic. Jordan had soccer practice from 5-6 and tball from 6-7:30 and I worked late. Eli had to work last night so he had to be at work at 7. So I didn't get any tball pictures off of my camera, but don't worry the tball post will come later this weekend.

Preston was asleep when we got home so I put him to bed since I had changed him into his pajamas before we left tball. I figured he would never make it home since he is always in bed by 7:00.  I LOVE the childrens place zip up pajamas and they are not expensive. Since it was chilly last night and we were out and about I didn't want to put him in his actual pajamas so I settled for a cute button up outfit. I am not a fan of button up pajamas for multiple reasons. One reason I don't like them is beacuse they are to hard to figure out how to button all the buttons with Mr. Rolly Polly wiggle worm. The other reason is this:
Preston is overly fascinated with his feet and thinks they should be in his mouth at all times. I don't know how he unbuttons those pajamas but he makes sure one foot is out everytime I put them on him. He is just so cute when he is sleeping I could eat him up.

After I woke him and Jordan up and they got dressed of course they wanted to play. Since Preston didn't get bubba time last night he was so excited to play this morning.  Preston LOVES his walker. He can even make it go.

Of course its always fun to have some help from big brother since he can go much faster than Preston's little legs!
