Walker Photography and design

My best friend is so talented. I wish I had half of the talent she has. She is a wonderful photographer. She can design any kind of invitations and birth announcements. She also is a wonderful painter. She makes some super cute hospital door hangers for new babies. She can literally make anything from hair bows to paintings to hang in your house. She has finally started her facebook page. Go take a look and like her page.

Weekend round up

I didn't take ANY pictures this weekend which is very odd for me.

Friday night we had some friends over and Eli cooked hamburgers on th grill. It was slot of fun and Jordan loved playing with Lily. We had a Tball game Saturday morning then went to
Eat lunch with Eli's mom. We came home and took a nap Since Eli had to work Saturday night. Sunday we went to Jackson and got Jordan shoes for camp. I am off work today so me and the Kids are cleaning around the house and getting Ready for the week.

Preston has started "saying" dada, momma, and bubba all within the last week. I am not sure he knows what he is saying but either way we all get really excited. He has also started screaming to jordans attention. He defiantly has his bubba wrapped around his little finger.

fondant cake

I am in the works of planning Preston's 1st birthday party. I know It is really sad, but I want it to be a special day so that means lots of planning. I have most everything picked out and now its time to figure out how to make/get it all. The cake of course is the main thing and I found the perfect one online. I called a few people and got prices and wow I just can't do it. The thrifty couponer in me says NO WAY you can pay that much for something you can do yourself.

With my inner voice I went to google got some tips, got a recipe, and headed to the grocery store with coupons in hand of course. I got everything I needed and decided to give it a try, and luckily my BFF offered to come over and help! It was a good thing No way I could do it by myself. It is not a hard process, but for sure messy. I think I had a couple of mini strokes looking at my messy kitchen.

The end result was a clean kitchen and pretty good cake.

It looks a little funny in the picture since we had already ate half of the top layer, but not bad for a first try.

I am going to try one more like what I want the final one to look like closer to time. My vision is 2 tiered cake. The bottom layer is going to be 3 or 4 cakes (so it will be thicker) the top will be a tad bigger than it is in the picture. It is going to be blue like the one we made last night, but it will have smaller polka dots in red, green, and yellow. I have a cake topper for the top tier that matches the party theme. I have also thought about using cookie cutters to cut his name out.  I can expierment now that I know I can do it.

I am excited about party planning! This is my favorite thing to do.

wee bit wednesday

{one} what’s the worst date you’ve ever been on?
I won't name names but when I was in high school I went out on a "date' with a guy and it was horrible. We went to eat and then went back to his parents house to watch movies (his parents were out of town or something). We ended up watching bruce almighty (stupid movie), and he was so shy he sat there rubbing his hands on his pants leg the whole time. When he took me home he said "I don't know why I am so shy and nervous tonight." I just said "It's okay maybe we can be friends" and got out of the truck.  It was so akward!!!

I wasn't sure on the sportage or sorento, but I knew one was the perfect car for me. We posted my car for sale on craigslist within 4 hours it was gone. I was pretty impressed with our car selling skills since I was sure it wouldn't sale. Since I was carless there was no backing out so We all loaded up in Eli's truck yesterday afteernoon to head to Wilson Kia. The end result....
A 2012 kia sorento. Yes, I love it. I also can't believe I have a NEW car. I never thought in a million years I would get something brand new.

weekend round up

Friday night we didn't do anything and we "skipped" tball Satruday. We had so much to do and I had to realize I can't do it all. We will be back next weekend so I will have new pictures.

Since we did skip saturday we went and got most of the other things for camp for Jordan. He just needs new tennis shoes and a few little items that I can't get till closer to time. Victoria and Nicole went with us shopping so of course that was a blast. We all headed to chuckee e cheese for Lilys birthday party. It was so much fun. The kids had a blast.

I tried to get Nichole to take a picture but she only like chuckee from far away.

Today we have hung out in the pool and outside all day so far. It has been great. Preston finally got to use his pool the Easter bunny left. Jordan got a pool and he couldn't wait to try it out of course.

My boys LOVE the pool!

Jordan's program at school

Jordans k5 program at school was so cute. I am so proud of him and he is so happy about being a first grader.

Preston and his new hangout!

This is Preston's new favorite spot. He figured out he can he can look OUTSIDE! Pulling him off the door is a very hard task that comes with a lot of crying and prying of the hands.
Of course daddy had to join in fun and tease the baby. Preston couldn't figure out how to get daddy, but he had so much fun trying.

Momma to a 1st grader!

It is kind of bittersweet to be honest. I can't believe how much Jordan has grown and developed in the last year. We got his report card yesterday and he is officially going to be a 1st grader next year. He has a little program today and awards day so I will of course be going to that. He is so excited to be out for summer. This school year was a good one I have to say. It taught Jordan a lot, and he finally learned he can't be teachers pet all the time.

weekend round up

Well I was really bust last week at work, and even though I had tons of stuff to blog about I didn't get the time. Hopefully I can do better this week. I did get a new camera this week. I am still deciding if its exactly what I want so we will see if I keep it.

Friday night Jordan spent the night with my grandmother and I spent the night getting the house cleaned.

Eli is working days this weekend so I was on my own for tball this weekend, but I think I did pretty good. I was out on the field helping with the kids since both Eli and our main coach were working. The mommas did great and the kids had fun. I had really hoped Jordan wouldn't play ball next year, but every week he likes it more and more. I am thinking he will want to play next year.
After tball we had a birthday party. My BFF Victoria had her little girls 4th birthday. I can't believe Nicole is 4. I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. The party was fairy themed and everything went great. It was a cute party and the all of the kids seemed to have fun.
The little fairy sure enjoyed herself and she got some pretty cute toys.

Today me and the kids are enjoying a much needed day at home. We haven't been home for more than a few hours in about 4 weekends. I think we are all exhausted from the constant go go lately. Preston normally does not nap very well at home, but today he took a 2 hour nap. As you can tell from the picture Jordan is still in his pajamas who cares that its lunch time?

Preston loves all of his brothers toys and he is very jealous that Jordan gets to come outside whenever he wants. Preston is going to be all boy just like Jordan and want to be outside all the time in the grass. Since the weather is perfect today we got hot wheels and game outside to sit and play eat the grass.

wee bit wednesday

{one} what profession have you always admired?
People in the military, fireman, police officers, and any type of service people. I cant imagine never getting off for holidays and working those crazy hours.

{two} what would the title of your memoir/biography be if it was written today?
hmm. how about "Jordan and Preston's mommy." I think it's pretty fitting

{three} how far do you commute to work?
My work is only about 8 miles from my house but I drive about 25
miles by the time I take the kids to daycare and school and come to work.

{four} are your earlobes attached or detached?
uhh they are attached?

{five} do you eat the unpopped kernels of popcorn at the bottom of the bag?
No I am not big on popcorn. It leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.

{six} what is the strangest gift you’ve ever received?
A family member (not close family member) use to give us ODD Christmas gifts. I am sure my cousins are laughing at this. One year she gave us all calendars for Christmas...that were no good past January. The next year she gave us mayo jars with homemade potpourri in them. She left the mayo sticker on the jar. I swear I could not make this stuff up.

{seven} what is one TV show that you wish hadn’t been cancelled?
The wonder years. I use to love me some Kevin and whinny lol. I love the hub channel direct TV has because it comes on at 8 every night.

{eight} what is something that you are saving money for right now?
haha, we're always saving money...right now its for vacation in July and all the time off work I will be missing this summer. If I don't buy a car soon I am going to have to buy a bike and a trailer for it that holds two kids.
{nine} what hobby would you like to take up?
Cooking...If I knew how.

{ten} how many times a year do you get really dressed up?
uh, I don't have a set number or anything just whenever I need to do something that requires me to "dress up"

Preston is 8 months old

I had a minor  major breakdown when I realized Preston is 8 months old. I just want to hold him all the time and rock him 24/7. I hate that he is growing up and there is NOTHING I can about it. It is bittersweet. I am so excited to watch him grown and learn new things like his brother. The other half of my heart knows that he is going to grow up and not "need" me anymore like his brother.

Preston loves his puffs and he is getting better and better at picking them up himself. That is one more thing he doesn't need me to do anymore

Getting him to sit still for a picture is a lot to ask a 8 month boy that just learned to crawl.

I finally got a half way decent one of my BIG boy!

weekend round up

This weekend was full of great friends and family. It was wonderful to see some friends we don't get to see often.

Friday I took Preston for his weight check in. His new allergy medicine has really helped and we think it is helping his spitting up. He has gained 2 lbs since easter. The doctor checked Preston out really good and he said he is doing GREAT! He wants us to keep up with the current diet we are on now and we go back in a month for another weight check in. Now to the fun stuff :) After the doctors visit Me, Jordan, and Preston met Jessica, Chloe and Cade. We did some shopping and then went to chick fil a for some supper since they have an indoor play place. I hate we don't get to see Jessica more often. Cade and Preston are only 10 weeks apart and Chloe and Jordan play so good together.

Chloe and Jordan enjoyed an ice cream cone after playing in the place.
Preston enjoyed his first chick fil a fry...I think he is hooked.

Saturday morning we had a tball game, but I didn't get any pictures at this game. When tball ended we headed home to meet Kristen and Bella. We all loaded up and headed to the zoo. We had so much fun. The kids had a blast and we got a good workout in with lots of girl talk.

we had to ride the train as soon as we got there.

Bella and Jordan had so much fun.

Even Preston got to enjoy the playground area.
Preston tried his first sno cone...I don't think he liked it very much.

Bella and Jordan both loved the turtles.

Sunday me and the boys got up and went to church. We were only about 2 minutes late which is GREAT for us on a Sunday morning. No really we were about 5 minutes early but seriously it is so tough to get everyone up and dressed on sunday mornings. At church the childrens choir sang a cute song for Mothers day. I took the picture with my phone so it isn't very clear and Jordan is all the way at the end so you can barely see him.
It was a nice service and after church we met my maw maw, paw paw, mom, and sister for lunch. We went and visited Granny after our lunch. We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon playing at home.

Yep I can honestly say it was a great weekend.

wee bit wednesday

{one} when was the last time you used a pay phone (if ever)?
I went to a two week summer camp in panama floriday when I was in the 8th grade. While I was there I had a calling card I could use to call my parents everyday. I always used the pay phone to call them becuase the camp phone was always in use or it was so nosy around it. I can honestly say that is the only time I have used a pay phone.

{two} did you ever fail a subject in school?
nope

{three} where do you go to get your favorite hamburger/cheeseburger?

Jordan got some of these in his Easter basket.
We decided to have some fun with the blue ones this afternoon. We pulled Preston's walker outside on the porch and ran around the front yard for about an hour making a mess. It was well the worth mess. We had so much fun.

Jordan was completely blue before it was all over.

weekend round up

We had a wonderful weekend. Eli was off work all weekend and it was great. Friday night I got some cleaning done and Eli and Jordan did lots of yard work. I even got to watch the cheesy (but good) movie on lifetime about William and Kate.

Saturday morning Preston woke up really early....like 5 am early. I am not sure what he was thinking, but Eli even got up with us which made it better. He fed Preston his bottle while I took a bath.

This is how I found them when I got out. They got a little nap in before we headed to tball. Jordan did great in his game. He seems to be doing better and better at every game. Victoria stayed after Nicole's game and watched Jordan play. She got some super cute pictures of Jordan playing.
That is one of my favorites. He was winking at me! It is a perfect shot of Jordan.

He is getting pretty good at batting. We are still working on catching. Saturday after the game we went to get groceries and ran some more errands. Saturday night we watched Yogi Bear. It is our new favorite. We love it. I think it the funniest movie since Cars.

Sunday we made our first trip to the creek with preston. We haven't been to the creek since September last year so Jordan was more than excited. Preston loved the water I can't wait to take him swimming this summer and to the beach. He had so much fun splashing and kicking. I of course got some cute pictures.

The weekends are always to short, but this weekend was one of the best we have had in a long time. I wish Eli was off on weekends more.
